The Poetics of Queer Mythology
The Poetics of Queer Mythology – Creative Writing Workshop // KUIR* (2/3)
If we might define queer as a dissidence of (cis-heterosexual) norms and myths as an (un)aware production of it, Mythology seems to therefore play a paramount role as for our very own existence as queer people. Having as a starting point Barthes’ (1972) statement “myth is a language”, our goal in this 4 hour-long workshop is to seek the poetics encoded in myths from the past and from the present, in order to decipher the normative within them and to create through Poetry alternative Queer Mythologies for the future.
No familiarity with writing is required, but a willingness to share is essential. Our communication will be held in English, however participants are welcome to pursue the writing activities in whichever preferred language.
This workshop has a limit of 8 people. We strongly suggest you apply through the following form: https://tinyurl.com/y2c7gbst
